DIVE GEEK HOT SPOT

Ash Avenue Comics
810 S. Ash Ave., Tempe
(480) 858-9447

Nestled in the heart of old Tempe, this comic book store removes almost all — a little bit is part of the fun — of the unbearable geekiness that plagues most such shops. Recommended: Searching through the wide selection of graphic novels. Not recommended: Stumbling out of Casey Moore's inebriated and buying that issue of X-Men No. 37 hanging up on the wall.

From Get Out Magazine

The article below is from the East Valley Tribune.  Ash Ave. Comics' owner Drew Sullivan was quoted in the article amongst comics industry figures such as Todd McFarlane and Jim Mahfood.  An exerpt is below:

There's nothing funny about a comic book exhibit

“Every customer here picks up a little mainstream, a little small press,” says Drew Sullivan, owner of Ash Avenue Comics and Books in Tempe. “People have a real diversity of tastes and in the genres they pick up.”
